Have you wondered what the sudden appearance of certain animals in our lives could signify? Are they there to send a message? As you know in the bible and other religious books animals appeared to guide men. The story of Abel, Cain and the crow which showed him how to bury his dead brother. I' wondering about this because each time I go out in the garden meditating , a big white bat keeps hoovering around me before it flies away. What are your thoughts guys about animals role in our lives?

As a boy I was fascinated with the majesty of hawks soaring... I even learned to call them.
In a hypnotic past life regression I discovered I was a Lakota Tribesman in the early 1700's named Tunkan (Stone of Creation). My animal totem was the Hawk's Spirit (Cetan Nagi). I learned mediation after the regression and now hawks are always showing up as synchronicities confirming meditative revelations about my life's spiritual path. I mention this because the white Bat may also be a synchronicity from a past life or related to your practice of meditation... or both.

You are right about the synchronicity thing... Those animals seem to appear in our meditative state as if they are trying to tell us we are on the right spiritual path....

Bats are known to be sensitive to vibration and perhaps in the meditative state the vibe you are emitting is attracting it?

Thanks James... the premise you succinctly propose totally supports the whole idea of intention within universal consciousness.

In the American Indian culture, it is believed that each person has an animal "totem" that will show up to help guide them in major decisions in their lives.

The one that shows up most often for me is a Roadrunner.
What the roadrunner is thought to symbolize can be found here: http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/roadrunner....

I can see the roadrunner influence in your mental acuity. I looked up my Red-Tailed Hawk Totem and was in awe. It's from my past life and fits perfectly in the whole of my current life. Thanks Dean for the website.

Many thanks Dean for the web link and also for sharing your totem. It is all new to me the totem thing . Thank God the animal is measured by its characteristics and not by its cuteness because a bat in my case would mean then, "find the nearest cave and hide your ugliness there" LoL... Is there only one permanent animal as a totem in our lives or they vary depending on the path you are on?
